Here are our current volunteer opportunities:

1. Neighborhood Outreach: We are searching for 3-4 people to join our Community Relations Team! They spend one day each week visiting neighborhoods in our community- to meet neighbors, share resources, keep records of referrals and questions, and canvass as needed. Bilingual is helpful but not a must.

The monthly schedule will be as follows:

• 1st Thursday 10 am to 4 pm – Smithville/East Catawba (Cornelius)
• 2nd Wednesday 12 pm to 7:30pm – Huntington Green (Huntersville)
• 3rd Monday 10 am to 4 pm – Pottstown (Huntersville)
• 4th Thursday 10 am to 4 pm – Davidson West (Davidson)

2. Website developer/manager: We are looking for some assistance to help develop and manage on a website for “North Meck Connect” to help connect people quickly to community resources. If interested, please directly contact [email protected]

3. Newsletter coordinator: Assist with the compilation and design of a monthly newsletter filled with content from neighborhood meetings and info from our partners. If interested, please directly contact [email protected]

4. Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA): Join our VITA team as we assist families with free tax preparation and will have locations in Davidson, Cornelius and Huntersville. The program runs from the first weekend in February until April 15th and our current volunteer needs are for:

• Greeters
• Tax Preparers
• Data Entry/Appointment Setting

5. Open Gym Monitor: We are in need of gym monitors for Saturdays in January and February. This is a great opportunity for HS Juniors and Seniors, College students and families.
