Now & Forever Campaign Provides Capital for Conservation
In early 2022, Davidson Lands Conservancy launched Now & Forever, a major capital campaign to ensure the organization’s high conservation-impact and sustainability.
At the Conservancy’s annual Conservation Celebration, Board Member and Campaign Chair John Griffith reported, “We have made impressive fundraising progress over the past year and are approaching our goal. Additional support from individuals and corporations in the coming months will take us to—and through!—our campaign goal.”
Slated to end in late 2025, Now & Forever has raised more than $1,300,000 in cash and pledges toward the goal of $1,750,000. With the continued support of our current generous annual donors, we hope to reach $1,650,000 by early 2025. To reach the final goal the Conservancy is seeking additional corporate support and individual pledges and donations from the community.
“I’m simply thrilled by the support we are receiving from the community. It’s a vote of confidence for the Conservancy’s work, laying the groundwork for stability and impact going forward. With $450,000 to raise in these next two years—which will include strong on-going annual support we’ve come to depend on from loyal donors, plus new donors and corporate support—I’m marking my calendar for a big celebration in 2025,” said Executive Director Dave Cable.
In addition to providing needed capital, Now & Forever introduces the Sustainers Society to recognize donors who continue their commitment beyond their Now & Forever Campaign pledge. Sustainers Society members will ensure the Conservancy’s impact through ongoing commitments year-to-year.
“The need for conservation in our community will not only continue but increase with development and land pressures,” said Cable. “DLC’s work to bring balance to growth is more important than ever, but is also more expensive, given high land values and rapid land consumption.”
Now & Forever is focused on providing key capital needed to advance DLC’s four conservation pillars: land conservation; urban forestry; greenways and trails; and wildlife habitat.
“The past year brought unprecedented advancement in all four pillar programs, thanks to the strong donor support and the committed volunteers and board members who contribute substantially to advancing our mission,” said Cable.
