DavidsonLearns: Preview of Bright Star

In this preview, Jacque will introduce us to Bright Star, the musical written and composed by Steve Martin and Edie Brickell. Set in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina in the 1940’s, the Tony-nominated Bright Star tells a story of family secrets, love and redemption through a bluegrass and country music score. At the preview, we will meet stage director Mark Sutch and conductor Tara Keith, and we will hear performances by cast members from the show.

About the Speaker

Jacquelyn Culpepper

Jacque Culpepper has shared her beautiful soprano voice with audiences around the world, singing with symphony orchestras and opera companies, and performing in music festivals. See her website for details. At Davidson College, she teaches voice, directs the opera workshop, and serves as musical director for music theater productions.
