Public Safety Building Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

by | Feb 8, 2024

Ribbon cutting at the dedication of the new Town of Davidson Public Safety building.

Thursday afternoon the Town of Davidson held a ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Public Safety building at 216 S. Main Street. The building is not new, but the primary purpose of the building is new. The former Town Hall building, dedicated in 1991, has been transformed into the Public Safety building for the Davidson Police and Fire Departments.

In 2019, Davidson voters approved a bond referendum for renovations of 251 South Street as the new Town Hall and Community Center and the Public Safety Building. When administrative staff members moved into the new facility in early 2023, renovation work began in the old Town Hall.

Mayor Rusty Knox spoke at the ceremony, as did Chief of Police Kimber Davidson, Fire Chief Ryan Monteith, and Assistant Town Manager Austin Nantz. Following the ribbon cutting, members of the community were invited in for refreshments and to tour the newly renovated building.
