BOSTON, Mass. – In the final event of the night, Davidson’s Frances Whitworth and Anne Berquist shattered their personal records in the women’s 3000 meters to highlight competition for the Wildcats in the David Hemery Valentine Invitational hosted by Boston University.
An all-conference performer in cross country this past fall, Whitworth won Heat 7 with a time of 9:29.24, which is the second fastest in program history. It was almost 16 seconds better than her previous best set a year ago at the Terrier Classic.
Running in the same heat as her teammate, Berquist’s time of 9:36.57 moved her into third place on Davidson’s all-time performers list, while breaking her prior mark of 9:51.02.
Davidson’s Kierra Marshall (200M), Aleia Gisolfi-McCready (400M) and Isabella Godoy (1,000M) turned in solid performances in their respective events, while Molly Sullivan (17:54.04) and Hallie Stewart (18:05.23) set new PRs in the 5K.
