Q. Have you ever been to the Town of Davidson, or do you have a connection to our Town?

Yes, I grew up with a Davidson address.

Q. Why are you running for office?

I am running because Jesus asked me to run, and He said now is the time.

Q. What makes you the most qualified over your primary opponents?

God qualifies those He calls. I am not a career politician, however:

  • From my years as a critical care nurse, I’m a team worker and great at leading. I stay calm and easily prioritize to make important decisions in high stress environments.
  • Also, I admit I don’t have all the answers and have a willingness to surround myself with wise counsel. I’m teachable but also capable of finding the answers needed and great at creating solutions.
  • From my years in ministry with women, I work well with people and believe the best leaders are servants first. I am person of influence, truth, and integrity.
  • As an author of 2 books, I believe in finishing what you start.
  • As a small business owner, leadership, time management, and budgeting are all skills I will bring to the table.

Q. What is the number one thing that Davidson voters need to know about you?

I am a native North Carolinian who wants to be a voice of truth and transparency for the people.

Q. What will be your top priorities?

-Rescue the children – prevent the far-left agenda from stealing their identity and destiny

-Eradicate Human Trafficking

-Defend the life of the unborn (Pro-Life)

-Bring Bible and prayer back into schools

-Advocate for Veterans benefits

-Protect 2nd Amendment

Have you ever been to the Town of Davidson, or do you have a connection to our Town?

Yes.

Why are you running for office?

The Lt. Governor’s position is a liaison between the executive and legislative branches of state government. I am currently the 94th District (Wilkes/Alexander) House Representative. I currently serve as a Full Appropriation Chairman, a chief budget writer, in the House and serve on several other committees. This experience has given me the established relationships needed with members of the North Carolina General Assembly and also a knowledge base of the departments and divisions of the state. I am a proven conservative that gets things accomplished.

What makes you the most qualified over your primary opponents?

Experience and relationships. I will not have on the job training, my experiences allow me to hit the ground running once I am elected. I am a school teacher and this experience has allowed me a different perspective in my service. One of the duties of the Lt. Governor is serving as a voting member on the State Board of Education. A conservative teacher is needed in this role.

What is the number one thing that Davidson voters need to know about you?

I am a proven conservative with a track record of moving the state and its economy forward.

What will be your top priorities?

Education, economy, and workforce development.

Have you ever been to the Town of Davidson, or do you have a connection to our Town?

Answer No, but I have spent so time in Charlotte and have been in the vicinity of Davidson College.

Why are you running for office?

Answer: I running to bring hope and security to the citizens of North Carolina. I am committed to immigration and border security; bringing as many good paying jobs to North Carolina as possible ; stopping fentanyl and other drugs from killing our kids; preventing suicides among our veterans and supporting our military families and communities; partnering with our great law enforcement officers throughout the state to ensure statewide, community, and schools security; and fighting to maintain our right to free speech and carry arms. Together, we can! North Carolina Strong! Also, I am the only African American Republican Candidate in North Carolina running for Lieutenant Governor in 2024.

What makes you the most qualified over your primary opponents?

Answer: I believe voters should choose me because I am the best candidate for the job and believe that I can beat any democratic candidate in the general election. After all, I am a former conservative democrat turned republican and proud of it and I am the only African American Republican Candidate running for Lieutenant Governor in North Carolina in 2024 which could be history in the making!

What is the number one thing that Davidson voters need to know about you?

Answer: I will fight for them, their families, and their children no matter what — I will fight for immigration and border security; job (s) security; drug intervention to help stop the flow of fentanyl from killing our youth; stopping suicides upon our veterans along with curbing homelessness for those who served; protecting women sports and our 1st and 2nd Amendment Rights; supporting our law enforcement and veterans families and communities throughout the state.

What will be your top priorities?

Answer: Immigration and border security; bringing as many good paying jobs to North Carolina as possible; and helping hurting families — there are too many young people dying from fentanyl overdose and veterans committing suicides.

Have you ever been to the Town of Davidson, or do you have a connection to our Town?

Yes, I have been to Davidson multiple times both during this campaign and during my tenure as Chief of Staff to Lt. Governor Dan Forest. I believe in the power of the grassroots and traveling to every county to meet people face to face.

Why are you running for office?

I am a principled limited government Conservative – fiscal and social. I believe in our country’s founding principles of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. I believe all mankind was created in God’s image and that our individual rights derive not from man or man-made governments, but are inherently bestowed upon us by our Creator and are worth preserving.

What makes you the most qualified over your primary opponents?

I have served both as a Chief of Staff for the previous Lt. Governor Dan Forest and as Chief of Staff to Congresswoman Sue Myrick. I have extensive experience in the field of government and already know how the office operates and how to use its powers to achieve political goals. Furthermore, I have traveled to all 100 counties to meet voters face to face. I believe that a candidate must interview for the job by meeting the people they seek to lead.

What is the number one thing that Davidson voters need to know about you?

I am a husband, father of three, and a candidate seeking the Republican nomination for the office of Lieutenant Governor. A native of North Carolina, I received my undergraduate degree from Wake Forest University and my Master’s Degree from Wheaton College. I am the founder and President of the Electoral Education Foundation, a 501-c3 non profit organization dedicated to advancing election integrity efforts in North Carolina. I served as Chief of Staff to former North Carolina Lt. Governor Dan Forest and former US Representative Sue Myrick. I am a published author and have advised many Conservative candidates and campaigns over the last three decades. I am open about my Christian faith, my love for my family and my call to serve others.

What will be your top priorities?

My top priority is preparing our state and our people to be self-sufficient when the day of reckoning occurs. We are not prepared to meet the challenges facing our state and our country. I will use my experience to make sure families and the state government can stand on their own. Secondly, I will use the authority of the office to fundamentally remove the stigma our society has placed on working in the trades. The Lt. Governor serves on the State Board of Education and the State Community College Board of Directors, providing a unique opportunity of influence to advance a new culture in our state that values entrepreneurship, trade work and small business ownership.

Q1. Have you ever been to the Town of Davidson, or do you have a connection to our Town?

Yes I have

Q2. Why are you running for office?

We the People, desire to choose leaders who are weary of the established norms and the dominance of a single political entity dictating our lives. It’s high time we elect individuals who understand that their authority stems from the people, not the government. Peter Boykin is a Constitutionalist that Believes Protecting Our Rights is the most important task a Representative of All Citizens MUST do. That is his mission.

Q3. What makes you the most qualified over your primary opponents?

I am a Constitutionalist for Liberty. I feel that issues are too often pegged as a “Conservative” or “Liberal” issues. Our Constitution was written by many people who shared many views but also disagreed and ultimately there was discussions and compromise that came to a very moderate doctrine that has guided this country for centuries. When you look towards our grand document it is a mixture of Liberal, Moderate, and Conservative ideas and practices and you must be open to everything.

Q4. What is the number one thing that Davidson voters need to know about you?

I can say I’m not going to lie unfortunately the position of Lt Governor is restricted to not allow for much power. I would however be a voice in many committees and a liaison between citizens and the legislative branch. When it comes to Education: Every child deserves a sound education, and that’s only possible when families are able to choose the school environment that’s right for them. I support homeschooling, charter schools, and private schools as an alternative to public schooling, parents should be allowed to know what is going on in their children’s schools, I would ask for more involvement with parents and teachers, lesson plans should be given in advance to parents, and I would like to see cameras in the classrooms.

Q5. What will be your top priorities?

I believe there is a balance of importance of issues, but it all comes down to Infrastructure, Education, and Jobs. I will act as a liaison between citizens and the legislative branch to push for needed changes to address these issues.
