E2D is Expanding Across North Carolina – Looking to Hire Two Positions

by | Feb 19, 2024

Since its inception in 2013 in Davidson, E2D – Eliminate the Digital Divide has been a champion of digital equity for low-income families in North Carolina, distributing over 42,000 refurbished laptops. By providing affordable access to crucial at-home technology, E2D has been instrumental in making economic mobility more achievable for these families. Central to their mission is the employment and training of student lab technicians who refurbish and reimage corporate-donated devices, ensuring their continued impact on the community.

Now, E2D is gearing up for a significant expansion! Beginning this year, the organization is committed to procuring an additional 20,000 devices annually for refurbishment and redistribution across the state. Their ambitious plans include forging closer ties with deviceless communities within HBCUs, Indigenous populations, and rural counties in North Carolina.

As E2D extends its reach statewide, internal growth is imperative. The organization is currently seeking candidates to fill two crucial roles:

  • Technology Operations Manager: Working in tandem with the Director of Technology, the Technology Operations Manager will oversee day-to-day operations at all three of E2D’s refurbishment lab locations. Interested applicants are encouraged to apply by March 1st.
  • E2D Impact Fellow: This newly created position aims to expand digital device inclusion efforts in Western North Carolina, focusing on eight identified target populations outlined by the North Carolina Digital Equity Act. The Impact Fellow will prioritize digital equity initiatives for low-income populations and students at HBCUs, fostering environments conducive to academic achievement. Interested applicants are encouraged to apply by March 1st.

To apply, please label your resume and cover letter with your last name and the document type (resume/cover letter) and submit them to [email protected].

Join E2D in their mission to bridge the digital divide and create a more equitable future for all North Carolinians!

E2D’s mission is to provide affordable access to essential at-home technology and digital skills for all North Carolina families. Our goals are to support academic success for students, preparing them for college, careers, and beyond as well as contribute to job creation and retention for adult members of households.
