WASHINGTON, D.C. – After her first pair of career starts, Davidson women’s basketball freshman Katie Donovan has been named the Atlantic 10’s co-Rookie of the Week, the league office announced Monday.

Katie Donovan got her first start as a Wildcat in the home game vs. George Mason.

Donovan earned the first conference honor of her career after averaging 11.5 points per game across a 1-1 week for the ‘Cats that saw them knock off George Mason 75-67 inside Belk Arena. Donovan torched the nets over two games, shooting 56.3 (9-of-16) from the floor and 80.0 percent from the foul line while making her lone 3-pointer. The rookie also dished out three assists while making one block and one steal.

On the season, the Queensland, Australia native averages 3.6 points per game and is shooting 43.2 from the field and 83.3 from the charity stripe while having played in all 25 contests for the ‘Cats.

Donovan and the Wildcats return to action on Wednesday, Feb. 21 to take on Dayton at 7 p.m.
