Men’s Basketball Drops Final Home Game

Senior David Sosnik started Wednesday night’s game and got some “air time” too.

 

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Behind a lengthy second-half run, Loyola Chicago pulled away to defeat Davidson, 69-59, in Atlantic 10 men’s basketball action Wednesday evening inside John M. Belk Arena.

Up 40-37 at the 15:49 mark, the Ramblers used a 16-2 run highlighted by three 3-pointers to push the lead to their largest of the night, 56-39.

Connor Kochera led both teams with 22 points on 8-of-15 shooting for the Wildcats, who fall to 15-15 overall and 5-12 in league play. Bobby Durkin added 13 points, while Grant Huffman finished with 11 points to go with 6 assists and 3 steals in the final home game of his career.

Miles Rubin paced the second-place Ramblers with 13 points, 9 rebounds and 5 blocks. Desmond Watson also had 13 points for Loyola Chicago (22-8, 14-3 A-10).

In a back-and-forth opening 20 minutes, Durkin tipped in a missed Kochera 3-pointer just before the buzzer to cut the deficit to 32-30 at the half.
