A little bit of rain couldn’t dampen the festivities before the start of Wildcats’ game against LaSalle. Nine senior scholar-athletes and their families were honored by Davidson Lacrosse.

Julianne Carey (35) – Economics Major from Blue Bell, Pennsylvania (The Agnes Irwin School)

2023 Season Summary: Earned A-10 Second Team All-Conference honors and won the league’s Player of the Week honor on 2/20… Played and started in 17 games as a junior… Became the program’s all-time leading draw taker with 113 draws in 2023, with 250 career draws going into her senior season… Scored a goal in 15 out of 17 games… Ranked third on the team in goals (34), assists (25) and points (59)… Led the ‘Cats on the draw circle and ranked 15th nationally in draw controls per game (6.65)… Matched her career high in draws won with 14 against La Salle on 4/29… Set a career-high in assists with five dishes at George Mason on 4/8… Scored five goals on six shots during the season opener at High Point.

Noelle Cegielski (16) – Mathematics Major from Yorktown Heights, N.Y. (Yorktown H.S.)

2023 Season Summary: Started in all 18 games as a junior… Set a career high & led the Wildcats with 33 ground balls… Caused 20 turnovers, good for second most on the team… Picked up a season-high five ground balls on 3/11 against Duquesne and caused three turnovers against George Washington on 3/25.

Paige Doyle (30) – Economics Major from Pleasanton, Calif. (Foothill)

2023 Season Summary: Appeared in four games in cage… Faced 37 shots and played in 77 minutes… Made three saves against Richmond on 4/22.

Lauren Garcia (23) – Economics Major from Lebanon, NJ (Gill St. Bernard’s)

2023 Season Summary: Appeared in 13 games as a junior, making two starts… Made her first career start on 5/4 against George Washington… Scored a career-high three goals at Saint Joseph’s on 4/16… Added a pair of games with two goals against Richmond and UMass… Totaled nine goals.

Brynn Jones (29) – Data Science Major from Slingerlands, N.Y. (Bethlehem Central)

2023 Season Summary: Appeared in all 18 games, making 16 starts… Picked up a career-high three ground balls against Duke on 2/15… Picked up a ground ball in 13 games as a junior… Was seventh on the team with 19 ground balls and fourth in caused turnovers (9)… Caused a pair of turnovers against George Mason and George Washington.

Caroline Moran (20) – Economics Major from Nanuet, N.Y. (Nanuet)

2023 Season Summary: Played in 11 games as a junior… Made her first start at VCU on March 22… Was fourth on the team in assists (7)… Had a career-best day against Gardner-Webb on 3/4, scoring one goal and three assists.

Alyssa Natoli (13) – Biology Major from Manorville, N.Y. (Eastport South Manor)

2023: Played in all 18 games as a sophomore and started 17 of 18… Picked up 21 ground balls and caused 8 turnovers… Caused two turnovers for a season high at St. Bonaventure 3/18.

 

Morgan O’Brien (26) – Psychology and Communications Major from Berwyn, Pa. (Academy of Notre Dame de Namur)

2023: Played in all 18 games, making 17 starts… Was a critical piece of the Wildcats’ defensive efforts… Recorded a ground ball in 10 games… Caused four turnovers.

Sophia Passalaqua (14) – Communications Major from Rumson, N.J. (Rumson-Fair Haven)

2023: Appeared in 17 games and made five starts… Made her first career start at Coastal Carolina on 2/19… Held a .909 shot on goal percentage… Scored six points as a junior and won five ground balls.
