There is a Way: a Poem of Resurrection by Jody Seymour
Endings speak of a
forever that buries
deep into waiting
of our questions
without answers
Darkness so desires
a lasting victory
But there is a way
through what seems
to be a path
with sudden endings
From shadows whose
silhouette portrays
an image of death
there appears a light
which reveals a
way through
all darkness
Resurrection cannot be
contained in a tomb
whose finality
is a cosmic pause…
There is a way
The way is through a
valley deep with
a longing for a
meaning not found
in mere words
So God who looks
beyond paths that
seem to end at
waiting graves
speaks a word beyond
our words
“Resurrection”…it was the
word upon his lips that
sunrise of long ago
No death could hold
his love that
offers new beginnings
And now for you and for
a world of need
he speaks into all
the silences of
our little and
big deaths,
“Come to me…
There is a way.
