O’Shaughnessy Named A-10 Player of the Week
WASHINGTON — Davidson infielder Michael O’Shaughnessy has been named Atlantic 10 Player of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.
The honor is the first for the sophomore from Delmar, N.Y., who was named A-10 Rookie of the Week twice last season.
O’Shaughnessy is the third Wildcat to earn weekly A-10 recognition this year, following Rookie of the Week selections Cooper Cavanaugh and Jed Howard, who were honored Feb. 20 and Feb. 27, respectively.
In a 2-2 week, O’Shaughnessy hit .500 (7-for-14) and posted a 1.793 OPS, including a 1.143 slugging percentage, to go with two home runs seven RBIs. He homered in consecutive games against Saint Joseph’s, including a grand slam and six RBIs in Friday’s 14-3 win.
His week also included a double, a triple and five walks.
