Into darkness. Light: a Poem by Jody Seymour

by | Apr 9, 2024

(a poem about the dawn of the Cosmos)

Into darkness there came
a presence seeking to
fill a waiting void
A power beyond imagining
created Creation
Its light desired form
to be later seen
by souls needing
to know there
was more than
veiled emptiness

So everything that came to be
filled all space
and time
The sound of it can
be heard in the
one who quiets
their busy spirit
and listens to the
beating of
the life within

Into darkness, light-
The reach of Creation
can again fill your
vacant places
From the beginning
a soul of love
longed to be present
to all deep questions

“Never are you alone,”
comes the echo
of a Creator’s resounding
beginning that
happened so that
you may always know
that no matter how
deep the darkness
there will be
light

“The light shines in
the darkness and the
darkness did not
overcome it”
