The Ada Jenkins Center: April News
Spring is in full swing! Here’s what’s happening at the Ada Jenkins Center!
The IRS tax deadline is April 15, which means there are only two weeks left to visit one of our three VITA program sites (Davidson, Cornelius, and Huntersville) for Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) and Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE). Volunteers are available to assist neighbors with incomes of $60,000 or less with free tax preparation. Appointments are required; register today!
With nice weather approaching, a new gymnasium in use, and a freshly renovated event space on the horizon, AJC is building an Events Team to assist with setup, tear down and event preparation. If you would like to join the team and lend a hand, please send our facility manager a message.
Demand for our food pantry continues to rise. Please check our greatest needs page for updated needs and information.
We are continuing the search for additional Neighborhood Outreach Volunteers to assist with visiting neighborhoods in our community… meeting neighbors, sharing resources, keeping records of referrals and questions, and canvassing as needed. Bilingual is helpful but not a must. Please join us!
Have an annual event or holiday party coming up this Spring or Summer? Curious about how you can make an impact in your community with very little effort? Then we want to hear from you! Let’s discuss how you can become an integral part of our mission as a “Friend of Ada!”
Looking to make a huge difference in our community? Come work with us! We’re hiring for the following positions:
- LEARN Works after school instructor

May the rays of the sun warm your heart and heat up the desire to engage with our great community!
