A-bomb Survivor Tree Descendants Planting

April 26 @ 3:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Davidson College – Wall North Lawn

Join us at the Wall North Lawn, in the green space between the E. Craig Wall Jr. Academic Center and the Sculpture Garden, in an honoring of resilience and remembrance, peace and unity, as we come together to plant the descendants of Japanese A-bomb Survivor Trees on the Davidson College Campus. Learn more about the project and partnerships, participate in sapling planting, and enjoy music, paper crane making, and refreshments. In the case of inclement weather, the location will be moved to the Library Lobby Fishbowl Classroom. Hosted by Jamie Moore, Director of Grounds, Kristi Multhaup, Vail Professor of Psychology, Shelley Rigger, VPAA and Brown Professor of Asian Politics, Susana Wadgymar, and Keiser Assistant Professor of Biology. With support from The Japanese Students Association Tara Villa Keith, Chair and Professor of Music and Symphony Orchestra Director, E.H. Little Library, and Sherry Nelson, Director of Davidson Arts and Creative Engagement.

Historic Main Street and the Circles at 30

The Gallery Crawl is a great way to see art all over Davidson. Artists display their work in Davidson’s establishments from our historic Main Street over to South Main Street and at the Circles @ 30. Galleries, businesses and town hall host visiting artists, including some that will be featured at Art on the Green April 27-28. Refreshments and music enhance the festivities. Please join us!

You know what Dragons really love? Tacos of course! A boy and his dog are watching a TV show about dragons when they unexpectedly get caught up in the ‘Dos and Don’ts’ of what to serve to dragons to eat. Dragons love tacos, but if they accidentally eat spicy salsa…watch out! “Dragons Love Tacos is a must-see for families, taco enthusiasts and anyone who’s ever had nothing to do.” -Chicago Parent

Recommended for all ages. Show lasts about 1 hour!

Indigo Girls in Concert

The Indigo Girls will return to Davidson College for a concert at the new Davidson College Stadium. The only duo with top 40 titles on the Billboard 200 in each decade from the 1980s-2010s, Amy Ray and Emily Saliers are again on tour with the release of their latest record, Look Long, a stirring and eclectic collection of songs. Over a 35+-year career, the multi-Grammy-winning duo have recorded 16 studio albums, sold over 15 million records and built a dedicated, enduring following across the globe. In 1986, the Indigo Girls played two Friday night shows the old 900 Room. Town of Davidson Earth Day Activities

Lorimer Road – across from the Town Green

The Town of Davidson, Davidson Lands Conservancy, and Davidson College invite the community to enjoy a festival of Earth Day activities. Come and join in on the fun Saturday, April 27 between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. at 35 Lorimer Road, adjacent to the Davidson Town Green. A brief ceremony will be held at 10:30 a.m., where the Town will be presented with an award from the U.S. Green Building Council.

Davidson’s juried art festival features booths filled with top-quality art works from artists throughout the region. Join us for an exciting weekend filled with visual, musical, and culinary arts!
