Gisolfi-McCready and Omonije Win A-10 Track & Field Titles; Women Set School Record
FAIRFAX, Va. – Highlighted by league titles from Aleia Gisolfi-McCready (400 M Hurdles) and Sola Omonije (High Jump), Davidson added five more podium finishes Sunday to conclude the 2024 Atlantic 10 Outdoor Track & Field Championships with a school-record 75.5 team points.
In all, the Wildcats finished the two-day event with three gold medals, two silvers and two bronze en route to a sixth-place finish out of 14 teams.
Gisolfi-McCready won the women’s 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:00.69, while Omonije set a new personal-record in the high jump with a height of 1.73m (5′ 8″).
In the 4x400m relay, Davidson’s Sophia Hood, Jocelyn Millican, Kierra Marshall and Gisolfi-McCready took home silver with a season-best time of 3:46.14.
Riley Dodd (4,710 points) and Hannah Casey (4,479) added to the team scoring with impressive showings in the heptathlon. Dodd held on to the third spot to win bronze, while Casey took sixth with a new career-best of her own.
Coming off a dominant performance to win the 10,000 meters last night, senior Frances Whitworth (16:46.44) took bronze in the 5,000 meters this afternoon, edging her teammate Anne Berquist (16:56.15).
Sophia Hood (400m | 7th place) and Summer Laskey (Discus | 7th place) also added to Davidson’s record-setting weekend.
