Davidson Branch Library: Heartfulness Meditation (week 2)

Heartfulness is a simple and subtle practice of meditation that connects each of us with the light and love in our hearts. Through our network of thousands of global Heartfulness centers in 160 countries and one magnificent smartphone app, we offer the world a daily practice that awakens our potential for a simple, joyful existence. Heartfulness’s mission is to enable every aspirants’ heart to expand in awareness and develop total well-being, leading to a life of contentment, calmness, compassion, courage, and clarity. By practicing listening to our hearts through Heartfulness, we can heal the past and create a better version of ourselves. This precious gift of human transformation is offered free of charge. Join us for this 4-week immersive Heartfulness Meditation Workshop. In this workshop you will learn how to reduce stress, anxiety; overcome mental conditioning; improve mental clarity, focus, and sleep. Whether you are a beginner or have been practicing meditation for a long time now, this session will give you easy, effective tools to empower your self-care routine. Participants need to be at least 15 years of age to attend.

 

Class of 2024 Baccalaureate Service

May 11 @ 2:30 p.m.

Belk Arena

Drawing on the college’s Presbyterian heritage, the Baccalaureate Service is an inclusive, non-denominational spiritual celebration for faculty, staff, seniors, parents, and their families. The seniors will process in wearing caps and gowns. President Doug Hicks, Associate Chaplain Daniel Heath, and DCPC Campus Minister Caitlyn Zold preside alongside Chaplain Julia Watkins. Chaplain Watkins will offer a sermon with words of blessing for the seniors.

Note: seating opens at 8:30 a.m. and the procession begins at 9:50 a.m. Tickets will only be required if the ceremony is moved to John M. Belk Arena. The 900 Room and the Duke Family Performance Center will serve as overflow locations in the case of inclement weather.
