DHC Raise the Roof! Block Party
On June 6, Davidson Housing Coalition is hosting a block party for residents of our rental and land lease properties, our immediate neighbors in West Davidson, and Town residents at large.
The event will include a food tent hosted by the excellent cooks at Davidson Presbyterian Church. And because no summer block party is complete without ice cream, Ben and Jerry’s Davidson will also be on site serving cones and cups.
Zeb Harrison and Sounds of Praise will provide live music. Zeb’s group is the brass band featured at Christmas in Davidson to much acclaim.
The block party will be held in the Creekside parking lot (behind the DHC office) on Thursday, June, 2024 between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. Parking is available at the Ada Jenkins Center.
Because we expect the music could go over the decibel limit of 60 dBa for the Town of Davidson’s sound ordinance, DHC requested a variance for this event. That variance was approved by the Town Board at the May 28 meeting.
DHC’s Director, Connie Wessner, looks forward to welcoming everyone to the Raise the Roof! inaugural block party. “This block party is our thank you to the neighborhood in which we’ve grown and hope to thrive. We encourage everyone in Town to join us in what will become an annual tradition of DHC honoring its neighbors,” said Wessner.
