DCP and Cain Center Enter Multi-year Agreement
Tickets on sale for Footloose, Matilda, Jr., and Christmas at Pemberley
We are thrilled to announce that Davidson Community Players will soon begin a resident company partnership with Cain Center for the Arts! Following the smash success Frozen, Jr., we’re committing to 8 total shows over the next 2 years with our pals in Cornelius. This partnership formally unites the region’s top theatre producers with its top arts presenters.
And we already have our first 4 productions lined up! In August, you can catch our TS3 teen ensemble in a full production of Footloose—what a great way to keep retro movie nostalgia going after 9 to 5.
Then, in November, we’ll shift our production of Matilda, Jr. from its original location at Armour Street to the Cain.
Finally, our 2024 adult mainstage will conclude in December with Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley, a jubilant sequel to Pride and Prejudice.
As of today, TICKETS FOR ALL 3 SHOWS ARE ON SALE! Purchase directly through Cain Center’s site while good seats remain.
And a little bonus…though not on sale yet, we’re stoked for our January 2025 youth show at Cain. We’ll be returning to the realm of action-packed Disney Jrs. with Finding Nemo, Jr., a perfect follow-up to the Frozen sensation.
We’re continuing our longstanding engagements at the Duke Family Performance Hall and Armour Street Theatre. Cain is simply a terrific middle option—big enough for grandeur, small enough for intimacy—to round out our current venue portfolio. In terms of both the shows themselves AND where they happen, we truly have something for everyone!
We’re giddy with excitement. We can’t wait to see you all at 9 to 5 next week to celebrate the adventures to come.
Cheers,
Steve and the DCP Team
