Our signature summer musical will have you humming all day and night, not just from 9 to 5!In an increasingly polarized world, few celebrities cross all imaginable demographics as perfectly as Dolly Parton. Country music icon, children’s advocate, and all-around awesome human, Dolly brings her signature songwriting pluck to this adaptation of her empowering 1980 movie about three women turning the man’s world of the modern office into their own. Like the heroines of the Barbie movie, there’s no corporate glass ceiling these women can’t smash.

Crazy Pig Stage

The first of its kind event. The Town of Davidson has a new Concert Series –  Music &Makers – held on the fifth Saturday of the month. The first of two concerts in this series is this weekend, on Saturday, June 29 from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Main Street businesses will feature handmade items produced by local makers. Take advantage of the Social District and enjoy live music on the Crazy Pig Stage at 402 S Main St.

 

Watercraft Rentals

June 29 @ 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Lake Davidson Nature Preserve – 750 Jetton Street

Come enjoy Lake Davidson on the watercraft of your choice: single or double kayak, paddle board or canoe! Meet our staff to rent your watercraft at the Nature Preserve behind Davidson Day School on Jetton Street and have fun on a self-guided paddling adventure. Watercrafts will be available on Saturdays from 2- 5 p.m. beginning mid-April. Register to reserve your watercraft of choice. Please arrive between 2 and 2:30 pm and boats must be ported by 5p.m.

Where’s Waldo? In Davidson, of course! Families love joining the scavenger hunt to find the iconic children’s book character, with his red-and-white-striped shirt and black glasses, hidden in 29 Davidson businesses. Begin the hunt by picking up a free stamp card (aka passport) at any participating Davidson business or print your own at home. There is no charge to participate, and the hunt happens from July 1 – July 27th. Read more here

 

Davidson Branch Library: Baby Storytime

This program will be provided by Davidson library staff. Please check in with library staff beginning at 9:00 am on the day of the Storytime – the first 12 babies and their caregivers are able to attend. Babies experience brain stimulation through language and socialization. Engage your little one with new sights and sounds through books, songs, and rhymes.

Town of Davidson – Fourth of July Parade/Stroll

July 4 @ 5:15 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

251 South Street

Kids of all ages are invited to join in on a wonderful tradition in Town – the 4th of July parade. Participants are invited to walk or ride bicycles from 251 South Street to the Town Green. The procession will be led by a color guard comprised of Davidson Police and Fire Department personnel.
