Davidson Women’s Basketball A10 schedule announced.

WASHINGTON – The Atlantic 10 unveiled the 18-game conference slates for the upcoming 2024-25 women’s basketball season Thursday afternoon, and Davidson will compete in home-and-home series with George Mason, St. Bonaventure, Saint Louis and reigning tournament champion Richmond.

Additionally, the Wildcats will play host to Loyola Chicago, Fordham, La Salle, Rhode Island and Saint Joseph’s. The ‘Cats will then add road trips to VCU, Duquesne, Dayton, George Washington and UMass.

Davidson was wildly successful in the front end of the 2023-24 season. The Wildcats posted an 18-8 record in games played to go along with a .692 winning percentage that ranked the third best in program history, while the 18 wins were the tied for the most in a season since 2013. The Wildcats began the season on a red-hot 12-1 start, including two wins over ACC opponents and their first-ever win over a ranked team. In mid-November, the ‘Cats traveled to Cameron Indoor Stadium and earned a 69-62 win over Duke, which was receiving votes in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll and was No. 22 in the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association Poll. The noteworthy win over the Blue Devils ignited a 10-game winning streak for Davidson, which was the program’s longest in 29 years.

The 2023-24 season ended prematurely due to a significant number of injuries, but the ‘Cats were able to compile their first winning record in the A-10 since the 2018-19 season, as they concluded 8-7.

The Wildcats return Third Team All-Conference forward Elle Sutphin for an additional year. Sutphin was second on the team in scoring with 12.9 points per game and shooting .465 from the field. The Pilot Mountain, N.C., native became the program’s 23rd member of the 1,000 point club last season, hitting the milestone in a 19-point performance against Duke.

The complete 2024-25 conference schedule with dates and times, as well as national television information, will be released at a later date. The 2025 Atlantic 10 Women’s Basketball Championship will be played March 5-9 at the Henrico Sports & Events Center in Henrico, Va., for the second consecutive year after a successful inaugural year in the venue.
