Davidson Police Department Offers Dog Walker Watch Programs for Residents
The Town of Davidson Police Department (DPD) invites residents and members of the community to attend one of two Dog Walker Watch training sessions on Thursday, July 25, 2024, and Thursday, September 19, 2024. Both training sessions will be held at 6: 00 p.m. in the Briefing Room of the Davidson Public Safety Building located at 216 Main Street. This training session is open to the first twenty-five (25) Davidson residents who register.
The Dog Walker Watch program encourages neighbors to support local law enforcement by acting as additional eyes and ears while walking their dogs in Town. This initiative strengthens the partnership between the DPD and Davidson residents, equipping neighbors with resources to increase awareness of their surroundings and effectively observe and report suspicious activity.
“The Dog Walker Watch program incorporates physical activity, shared participation, and supports our values to protect and serve the Davidson community.” said Community Engagement Officer Mike Prather. “It’s a way for the Davidson Police Department and to work in partnership with the community to prevent crime.”
The deadline to register for the July 25 session is Monday, July 22, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. The deadline to register for the September 19 session is Monday, September 16, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. To register for either of these training sessions, Davidson residents must complete this online form.
