Jarvie Added to Field Hockey Staff

by | Jul 30, 2024

Hannah Jarvie is joining the Davidson field hockey program as an assistant coach, head coach Zoe Almquist announced Monday.

Jarvie arrives at Davidson after a successful playing career at Michigan State, which concluded last season.

“Hannah comes to us with the familiarity of competing against some of the top teams in the country, experience we will immediately lean on as we prepare to compete against top Atlantic 10 opponents this fall,” said Almquist. “In addition, Hannah’s enthusiasm and innate connections with those around her led me to know she is a wonderful fit for Davidson field hockey and our community as a whole. We’re so happy she’s joining the Wildcat family!”

Jarvie played for the Spartans, of the perennially strong Big Ten Conference, from 2019-23. A native of Saline, Mich., she served as a team captain her senior year.

“I am incredibly excited to join the Davidson field hockey staff and contribute to the growth and success of this talented team,” said Jarvie. “I can’t wait to get started alongside Zoe and Anna Smarrelli and build on the strong foundation already in place. Day One can’t come soon enough! Go Cats!”

At Michigan State, Jarvie played in 69 career games, with 38 starts, and she totaled 17 points, comprised of seven goals and three assists. Jarvie was a three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree and three-time selection to the NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad. She won the Spartans’ Most Improved Player Award in 2021, and in 2022, was named a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar and ranked third on the team with 10 points. She was a Preseason All-Big Ten pick her last two seasons.

A Communication major, Jarvie graduated in December and has been working with the Pinnacle Field Hockey Club.
