The Town of Davidson announces completion of the Beaty Street Sidewalk project. This project completes the sidewalk network on the west side of Beaty Street to enhance Davidson’s overall connectivity between the north and west sides of Town.

This ADA compliant mobility project came to fruition as a direct result of American Rescue Plan (ARPA) funds granted to the Town and the project was selected after a process that included multiple public input sessions.

This six-foot wide sidewalk fills in the final section on the west side of Beaty Street bridging the gap between Naples Drive, Trane, and the Oakhill Apartments. It also serves as a connector to Beaty Park to enhance pedestrian access to the Town’s newest park.

The completion of this section of the Beaty Street sidewalk is in alignment with the Town’s Strategic Plan goal to expand, improve, and diversify the Town’s transportation network to provide residents and visitors with safe, convenient, accessible, reliable, and efficient multi-modal travel choices to connect people across the community.
