We have community partner spots remaining for the Community Involvement Fair on September 3. The registration deadline is extended to Sunday, August 25. Find the link to register below along with other ways to connect with Davidson College!

The Davidson College Center for Civic Engagement partners with nonprofit and community organizations to connect students, faculty, and staff with opportunities to build community capacity and impact positive community-driven change. This link will take you to our nonprofit & community partner resource page. As the fall semester approaches, we write with some key information and event registration details to help you publicize your internships, projects, and service opportunities.

Post Your Internships, Projects, and Service Opportunities

If you have projects, ongoing internships, or service opportunities, please share them with us! The center publicizes opportunities ranging from introductory service experiences to immersive summer internship programs on our Community Opportunities site. We also partner with faculty who incorporate community-based projects into their courses or research. The opportunity submission form is always open! Click here to submit opportunities.

Note that many students begin looking for ongoing volunteer or internship experiences before the semester starts and during the first few weeks of classes. The 2024-25 Davidson College Academic Calendar is as follows:

• The first day of fall classes is August 26 and the last day of classes for the semester is December 10 (followed by an exam period).
• Students return to campus for spring classes beginning on January 21 and the last day of spring classes is May 7 (followed by an exam period).

Community Involvement Fair – Registration is Open

Event Date: Tuesday, September 3, 2024
Time: 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Location: Alvarez College Union Atrium at Davidson College

An optional lunch and meet & greet event will be offered at 12:30 p.m. for partners in attendance.

The fair is a time for nonprofits and community leaders to connect with Davidson students, faculty, and staff members. You will be able to share information about your organization and the variety of opportunities you offer related to your organization’s mission and social change work.

Registration: If you would like a table at the fair, please register using this form by the end of day Sunday, August 25. Additional information will be sent to registered participants following the registration deadline.

Recognize Davidson Students, Alumni, Faculty, Staff and Community Organizations for Community-Based Work this Summer
We would love to hear about the community-based work of students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community organizations throughout the year! Please recognize individuals or groups throughout the year using this form. All submissions will be considered for the annual Celebration of Service awards in April 2025 and some submissions will be recognized throughout the year on the Center for Civic Engagement’s communication channels.
