Bakers, Start Your Ovens!
The Cake Race is a wonderful, annual tradition at Davidson College. This year’s race is scheduled for August 28.
It’s almost time for the annual Davidson College Cake Race, and bakers across the community are invited to bake (or buy) a cake for the event.
The Cake Race for the Davidson College Class of 2028 will take place on Wednesday, August 28 at 5:00 p.m. The race begins and ends in front of the Baker Sports Complex.
Cakes for the Wildcats
Last year’s race was delayed for a day, based on a weather forecast that included tropical storm strength wind and rain. Hopefully, this year’s event will take place on schedule.

Cakes (homemade or store-bought) can be dropped off in Baker Lobby between 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on August 28. Please note if the cake contains nuts or peanut butter.
Even if you can’t provide a cake, members of the community are invited to come out and watch this time-honored tradition. It’s best to show up by 4:30 p.m.
