‘Cats Draw with High Point Behind Moylan’s Goal
HIGH POINT, N.C. – In their second game of the season, the Davidson College men’s soccer team played the High Point Panthers to a 1-1 draw at Vert Stadium.
All the action went down in the second half when the Panthers built an attack in Davidson’s defensive zone and put a shot into the back of the net in the 55th minute.
The Wildcats stayed the course and drew a corner kick less than four minutes later. Junior Denis Krioutchenkov stood over the corner and delivered a low line-drive to Brady McGlone who was streaking away from the six-yard box. The freshman defender redirected the inward swinging ball back towards the center of the box where captain Eamon Moylan headed it home for the equalizer.
It was the senior’s first career goal as a Wildcat.
Davidson weathered a late charge by the Panthers as they sprayed nine shots in the final 30 minutes. Junior Jack Burden made two key saves including one in the final minute to keep the draw intact.
