Lake Norman Area Democratic Organizations Host Rally-Cookout at Ramsey Creek Park
Candidates and Neighbors Come Together to Celebrate National, State and Local Politics
Three local Democratic organizations; Democrats of North Mecklenburg, Dems of Davidson and Cornelius Democrats are hosting a Rally-Cookout on September 7, 2024 at Ramsey Creek Park in Cornelius from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The public is invited to join in on the fun with music, games, and a free cookout meal. Guests will hear from candidates Beth Helfrich for NC House District 98, Kate Barr for NC Senate District 37, and Judge Ed Eldred for NC Court of Appeals. Other candidates and party officials will be there to mingle and hear what’s on citizen’s minds.
Mike DeVoney, Chair of Democrats of North Mecklenburg, is hoping that the overwhelming success of the Democratic National Convention in Chicago will help get local citizens involved in the political process
and get them exploring candidates who are further down the ticket. DeVoney says, “We want to give our neighbors an opportunity to register to vote (hosted by non-partisan RallyNC), find candidate information, hear from local officials, and enjoy a great afternoon in the park with their families. This important election is just a few months away and we want everybody to turn out on November 5th. We believe our excellent candidates offer a vision for North Carolina that is positive, ready for the future and respect the rights of women and minorities.”
Ramey Creek Park is located at 18411 Nantz Road in Cornelius off West Catawba. If you’d like to attend, please R.S.V.P. to Mobilize.us/Rally
