Davidson Lands Conservancy 19th Annual Run For Green Shaping Up to Be Another Win For Regional Conservation
Davidson Lands Conservancy (DLC) will hold its 19th annual Run For Green on Saturday, September 28, starting from the Davidson Town Green at 7:45 a.m. The course winds its way through picturesque neighborhoods, over wooded greenways, and alongside winding stream beds. More than 500 participants have already registered for the 5K, 10K or half marathon meaning the race is poised to break last year’s registration numbers. Registration will continue until the morning of the event, but to guarantee a T-shirt, you must register prior to September 16.
The shirts feature an exciting new logo selected after a competitive design contest was won by Davidson resident, Lisa Venancio. The shirts will be printed locally for the first time by DavProCo Ink. Other updated offerings include composting for cups and food waste, a unique finishing medal design that uses the shape of the new T-shirt logo, a tree sapling give-a-way by Bartlett Tree Experts and packet pick-up at the newest downtown Davidson business, King Canary Brewing on Depot Street.
Run For Green is an important part of the Lake Norman area running community for many reasons, including that it is a long-standing race that draws passionate participants and benefits Davidson Lands Conservancy, whose work protects many assets that runners and walkers cherish the most: Open spaces, greenways, trails, trees and wildlife habitats. Register today here and help keep Davidson green. If you’re not interested in running but would like to support the race and work of DLC, there are many ways to do that. You can sign up to volunteer here. You can come out and cheer on the participants. Go to the website to get involved in other efforts.
