Field Hockey Falls to App State
DAVIDSON — Appalachian State scored four goals in the third quarter and topped the Davidson field hockey team 7-2 Sunday afternoon at Belk Turf Field.
With the loss, Davidson fell to 2-2, while App State improved to 3-3.
Davidson’s goals came from Liv Goeke and Abby Pompeo, who notched their first scores of the year. Goeke’s goal, on a Sib Naaktgeboren assist, got the Wildcats on the board in the third quarter. Pompeo followed moments later on an assist from Macy Curtis.
Florine Koopman and Sophia Baxter had two goals apiece to lead the Mountaineers.
