Many of us still remember the golden years of Stephen Curry at Davidson. Quite a few of us also remember one of his teammates, Andrew Lovedale, and the efforts he has made to support his home community in Nigeria through shoe drives and 5Ks. What you may not know is how much Andrew’s organization Access 2 Success (A2S) has grown since then. A2S has an upcoming fundraiser back on Davidson’s campus that is the perfect opportunity to see how the seeds we sowed together in 2008 and 2009 have flourished. We now support thousands each year through A2S’s grassroots programs.

A2S is hosting their annual Soulful Supper on Saturday, October 12. Soulful Supper is A2S’s annual fundraiser that consists of a social hour, silent auction, and dinner program with a traditional Nigerian meal. It is a great event to get to know those who support A2S and get a taste of Nigerian culture at an event that supports the children and youth that A2S serves in Nigeria.

This year’s event is focused on how A2S “adds color” to the lives of their children and youth each day. The A2S team says that everyone connected to A2S adds color to each other’s lives in their own ways, and they are ready to celebrate! A2S is excited to show you the ways they help youth build agency, so they can regain one of God’s greatest gifts – the gift of choice. There is a colorful array of dreams and passions that these kids have for their futures. As the kids discover God’s purpose for their lives, A2S’s hope is to empower them to be Godly stewards in their communities, wherever their dreams might take them.
