DAVIDSON: The Rotary Club of Davidson is thrilled to announce the kickoff of its highly anticipated annual Giving Tree Village fundraiser, perfectly timed with the cherished Christmas in Davidson celebration! This festive event shines as a beacon of community spirit, supporting over 60 diverse non-profit organizations and creating a wonderful opportunity for local businesses, clubs, groups, and individuals to unite and make a meaningful impact.

Exciting News for 2024!

This year, the Rotary Club of Davidson is proud to introduce the Davidson Rotary Charitable Fund Incorporated.

What does this mean for you as a sponsor? We encourage you to consult with your accountant regarding how this may affect your contributions. If you require a copy of our IRS approval letter, just reach out!

What does this mean for you as a non-profit organization? In line with the bylaws of the Davidson Rotary Charitable Fund Inc., all donations must be directed to 501(c)(3) charitable organizations. Therefore, participating nonprofits will need to provide proof of their 501(c)(3) status during the application process.

What does this mean for you as a donor? Donations made to the Giving Tree Village may be tax-exempt under IRC Section 170. Donors contributing $250 or more will automatically receive a charitable donation letter, while smaller donations will be acknowledged upon request.

The Giving Tree Village: Illuminating Lives this Holiday Season

The Giving Tree Village serves as a unifying force within our community, driven by key objectives:

• Visibility for Local Non-Profits and Businesses: Offering a platform for diverse local non-profits and businesses to shine.
• Critical Funding for Small Non-Profits: Raising essential funds for small community-based organizations.
• Building Lasting Connections: Establishing enduring relationships between businesses and non-profits, reinforcing collaboration.

How Does the Giving Tree Village Work?

At the heart of this enchanting event lies the Village of Christmas Trees, featuring 60 beautifully decorated trees sponsored by local businesses and individuals. Each tree symbolizes a partnership between a local business and a non-profit. Approximately 30,000 visitors stroll through the Giving Tree Village during December, casting votes that generate donations for their chosen charities. Additional cash awards funded by the event and tree sponsors are also distributed based on various categories.

Come visit the Giving Tree Village during the three magical nights of Christmas in Davidson from December 5th to 7th, between 6 and 9 p.m. Cast your votes and embody the holiday spirit of sharing, caring, and making a positive difference in our community! All votes directly benefit the non-profit represented by each tree. You can cast your vote in person or virtually at Giving Tree Village Website.
