Men’s Basketball Announces 2024-25 Non-Conference Slate

DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Davidson men’s basketball program unveiled its 13-game non-conference schedule Monday morning, and will open up the 2024-25 campaign on Nov. 4 against William Peace University.

The full lineup includes eight games inside Belk Arena, the Wildcats’ ninth-straight multi-team event at the Battle 4 Atlantis and a pair of road games at Bowling Green and Temple.

Our staff did an incredible job putting together our non-conference schedule for the upcoming season,” said head coach Matt McKillop. “We are excited to continue old rivalries and hopefully add new ones. Games against Charlotte, Temple, and ETSU will allow us to compete against teams that we have battled all throughout our program’s history and hope to continue to do so.”

Davidson will open the season in front of its home crowd for the fourth consecutive year before paying a visit to Bowling Green on Nov. 8 for the first time since 1986. The ‘Cats will then host ETSU on Saturday, Nov. 16 in the return game of a home-and-home series that began last season, and VMI on Nov. 22 before heading to the tropics for Thanksgiving.

The 2024 Battle 4 Atlantis will be an opportunity for the ‘Cats to test themselves away from home, as the MTE features a Nov. 27 matchup with Arizona, the No. 2 seed out of the West Region in last season’s NCAA Tournament. The following day, Davidson will play either Providence or Oklahoma, and await Indiana, Louisville, Gonzaga or West Virginia on the final day of the tournament.

“I imagine eyes will immediately be drawn to the field that we will face in the Battle for Atlantis,” McKillop added. “In all my years at Davidson, I do not believe we’ve ever participated in an event as competitive as this. We are thrilled for the challenge.”

The month of December begins with Charleston Southern visiting Belk Arena on Dec. 6, before the Wildcats continue their crosstown rivalry with Charlotte on Dec. 10 at home. The first-ever meeting with Detroit Mercy (Dec. 14) will cap off a three-game home stretch for the ‘Cats.

To conclude non-conference play, the Wildcats will head to Philadelphia on Dec. 18 to face Temple for the first time since 2019, before returning home for meetings with Bethune-Cookman (Dec. 21) and Eastern Michigan (Dec. 28) ahead of the start of Atlantic 10 Conference play.

The 2024-25 Atlantic 10 Conference schedule, as well as game times and TV information, will be released at a later date and be updated on davidsonwildcats.com as it becomes available. Season tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at davidsonwildcats.com/tickets.
