DAVIDSON — Emelia Little’s goal and some shutdown defense helped the Davidson field hockey team earn a 1-0 win over Saint Francis Sunday afternoon at Belk Turf Field.

The victory evened the Wildcats’ record at 3-3, while Saint Francis fell to 5-3.

Little’s goal, the first of her career, came at the 11:17 mark of the second quarter off a deep shot from the right side.

The Wildcats and Red Flash had nine shots apiece as well as three shots-on-goal each. But the Davidson defense also had to defend seven penalty corners to complete the shutout. Keeper MaryKate Berg had two saves, and Bella Worthington notched a defensive save in the third quarter.

Prior to the game, the Wildcats honored the five members of the 2025 class, including Worthington, Macy Curtis, Sofi Doune-Bosch, Abby Pompeo and Adriana Risi.
