Charity Softball Game Rescheduled Due to Inclement Weather
Due to inclement weather, the Town of Davidson and Davidson Youth Baseball Association (DYBA) have rescheduled the Battle of the Badges Charity Softball Game to Sunday, October 13, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. at McEver Fields, located at 626 South Street. The Davidson Fire Department will take on the Davidson Police Department in a friendly charity softball game. Gates will open at 2:30 p.m., with Mayor Rusty Knox tossing the first pitch at 3:45 p.m. The game will begin immediately after.
Each of the Town’s Public Safety Departments will raise money to support a charity of their choice. The Davidson Fire Department has selected to donate contributions raised to the North Carolina Firefighter’s Burned Children Fund, to provide non-medical assistance to child burn victims, and developing and implementing burn prevention programs. The Davidson Police Department has selected to raise funds in support of Back the Blue NC, Inc. an organization of residents from North Carolina who support our local, state, and federal Law Enforcement with a vision to improve morale in police departments across the state, help foster positive community-police relationships by humanizing the badge, and giving back to our heroes in Law Enforcement. Donations can be made online here or on the event’s webpage.
Despite the donation link’s current description stating that your donation will support DYBA. we want to clarify and confirm that all donations made using the link provided from now through Sunday, October 13 will be distributed to support the two separate designated charities: NC Firefighter’s Burned Children Fund and Back the Blue NC, Inc. Rest assured that your contribution will have an impact, benefiting both of these organizations equally. We appreciate your generosity and understanding.
