Hurricane Helene Disaster Relief Resources

In the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, communities are facing significant loss and have an urgent need for support. The following resources can guide you in supporting relief efforts.
Relief Organizations
Relief organizations, such as FEMA, recommend that individuals interested in helping with disaster relief work through existing organizations. A financial contribution to reputable relief organizations is one of the most effective ways to support relief efforts. If you prefer to make a donation, be sure to visit Charity Navigator, Charity Watch, Give Well, and the Better Business Bureau to help assess an organization’s effectiveness in managing donated funds. The following organizations are on the ground in multiple locations and seeking donations:

Collecting donations of high demand items on Wednesday, October 2 through Friday, October 4 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. in the front of the Davidson Public Safety Building at 216 S. Main Street in Davidson. More information here. - Mooresville Kindness Closet

Summit Coffee Benefit Concert
Saturday, October 5 from 1-6 p.m. & Sunday, October 6 from 1-5 p.m.
Summit’s Main Street Davidson location (Basecamp)
In order to support Hurricane Helene relief efforts in Asheville and throughout Western NC, Summit Coffee is planning a benefit concert and donating a portion of sales at all Davidson and Charlotte area locations to World Central Kitchen. Saturday, October 5, 10% of all proceeds at Summit will go to WCK. If you can’t make it on Saturday, you can give to Summit’s WCK fundraising efforts at this link.
