Women’s Basketball Releases 2024-25 Schedule
DAVIDSON – The Davidson women’s basketball team released its full 30-game slate Tuesday, as announced by head coach Gayle Fulks and the Atlantic 10. The ‘Cats schedule will feature 12 non-conference contests, and its 18-game A-10 slate.
We are excited to announce our full 2024-25 schedule and to now have the roadmap for our upcoming season,” said head coach Gayle Fulks. “In what is likely the most challenging schedule that we have put together since being at Davidson, we feel the non-conference slate is one that is reflective of a team that is vying for an A-10 Championship and has post-season aspirations. Bringing in mid-major powerhouse Florida Gulf Coast to Belk Arena for the opening game will be one of the best games in the first week of the women’s college basketball season. We are excited to test ourselves against a program that has been a model of sustained mid-major excellence.”
“Our team is also looking forward to heading into Florida to compete in the Fort Myers Tip-Off event over Thanksgiving,” continued Fulks. “It has been several years since we have participated in a marquee multi-team event like this one and we cannot wait for the opportunity this tournament presents our group with in competing against Virginia Tech and either Michigan or Belmont.”
“After our memorable ACC swing to start last season, it will be a great challenge for our team to go head-to-head with last years final four team NC State. This is the start of a home and home series that will have the Wolfpack return to us in 2025-26. As with previous years, our ‘Cats will have some extra juice in wrapping up with a non-conference finale against UNC Charlotte for the 704 Cup and looking to retain the trophy for the third straight season.”
“The conference schedule will present its own challenges as our team looks to respond to the unfortunate way that our 2024 A-10 season ended. With many college basketball conference experiencing new opponents and odd schedules, it is empowering to know that we have the opportunity in the Atlantic 10 to continue to build upon already strong league rivalries. Our program is honored to have been awarded five nationally televised conference games this upcoming season, a testament to both growth of A-10 Women’s Basketball and Davidson women’s basketball brand.”
