Davidson’s Annual Halloween March A Huge Success

by | Oct 29, 2024

An incredibly creative costume design.

Davidson officials estimate that more than 1500 kids, and a few adults, dressed in some amazing costumes for the annual Halloween March last Friday afternoon.

Once again, the march officially started in front of the Town Public Safety Building at 216 South Main Street, with the line wrapping all the way down Jackson Street. Thankfully, there was ample candy to fill the bags, pillowcases, and plastic pumpkins held by ghosts, goblins, minions, and myriad different characters.

Davidson residents also had the chance to decorate a Jack-O-Lantern and enter it into the contest that is part of the Jack-O-Lantern Walk at Roosevelt Wilson Park.

The final part of Davidson’s Halloween festivities is the Pumpkin Smash at Fisher Farm next Sunday, November 3. That event allows kids to shoot pumpkins on the archery range and then smash them. Both activities are supervised, and all the smashed pumpkins will be composted and used on the farm.
