Join in the fun of the Annual Davidson Turkey Trot!

The mission of the Trot is to bring the community together to celebrate, give thanks, and share our bounty with those around us.

The Turkey Trot is hosted by Students Offering Smiles, a 501(c)3 nonprofit. Proceeds from the event benefit local non-profits and beyond, focused on promoting good physical and mental health, combating food insecurity, enhancing education, as well as addressing other needs of those in our community from the very young to the very old.

Students Offering Smiles is proud to share that the 2023 Davidson Turkey Trot raised donations totaling $51,000:
•    $16,500 to Davidson Cornelius Child Development Center for Project Greenplay
•    $7,500 to Senior Community Connections for Member, Volunteer, Marketing and Communications support
•    $4,500 to FeedNC towards the Children’s Sensory Garden
•    $4,500 to LEARNWorks at Ada Jenkins to provide after-school snacks for one year
•    $3,000 Davidson Lifeline  – funded showing of Not Good Enough film event at Town Hall on Aug 22, 2024
•    $15,000 towards a Gift of Life International Grant to provide heart surgeries at Bustamante Children’s Hospital in Jamaica

Since its launch in 2021, Students Offering Smiles and the Davidson Turkey Trot have enabled donations of over $113,000 to those in need.

Join them on Thanksgiving morning on the 5k course as it winds through beautiful downtown Davidson, starting at 119 South Main Street. Bring the whole family out for this fun event benefitting non-profits in Davidson, which this year includes the New Children’s Sensory Wall at the Davidson Library Branch.
