Help Bring Warmth This Winter!
Volunteers from Trane Technologies who helped design the bulletin board for LEARN Works.
As the winter months approach, please consider joining our volunteer efforts. Whether it is tutoring, organizing a donation drive, or lending a helping hand, your support can make a world of difference. Together, we can ensure everyone in our community feels the warmth of kindness this season.
Please visit the Giving Tree Village at Christmas in Davidson on December 5, 6, and 7. You will find the Ada Jenkins Center tree decorated with a Ghosts of Christmas theme. We would appreciate your vote!
We have many volunteer opportunities:
- Our LEARN Works program needs drop in volunteers! We need volunteers for the first few weeks of January to fill in for our Davidson College students on winter break. If interested, email here.
- Open gym returns! We are bringing back open gym on a few Saturdays during the winter months. The full schedule is coming soon. We need volunteers to monitor open gym sessions. If interested, email here.
- Hall of History. We are seeking three volunteers to assist our volunteer leader with our Hall of History digital timeline and wall display. If interested, email here.
- Bulletin Board Design Team. Join our bulletin board design team to help design and decorate the bulletin boards in the hallway highlighting our services and programs. If interested, email here.
- Join the VITA Volunteer Community. Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) prep volunteers are needed. No cost 2-day training provided, 1-day training for greeters, IRS certification available, and great resume building skills. Call 704-896-0471 ext. 116 to register. Training begins in December.
- Friend of Ada opportunities. If you have an idea or would like to speak about hosting your own “Friend of Ada” event and impact your community, send an email here!
AJC currently has supply needs to support our cooking classes, street outreach food pantry, and more. Please check the following lists if you’d like to hold a drive or simply purchase any of these much-needed items!
