Women’s Track and Field – Molly Sullivan and Abigail Nasse set new personal records in the 1500m to finish second and fourth, respectively, highlighting the final day of competition for the Davidson women’s track & field team at the VertKlasse Meeting hosted by High Point.

Sullivan, who set a new school record in the 3000m Steeplechase last week in Raleigh, finished in 4:37.10 today, followed closely by Nasse’s 4:39.62.

In the shot put, freshman Ashley Rangel recorded a distance 12.94m (42′-5 ½”) to place eighth out of 39 competitors.

The Davidson women’s track and field team set four personal records on day one of the Vertklasse Meeting hosted by High Point.

Chris-Ann Nelson, competing in the 200m (24.61) and 400m (57.80), recorded new career-best times in each event.

In the 800m, sophomore Isabella Godoy turned in her lowest time of the season with a 2:17.07 to place third, while teammate Katie Deacon ran a personal-best 2:18.07.

Amelia Monohan also ran the 800m coming home fourth in 2:17.54.

Also highlighting day one of competition was Hannah Morgan’s PR (5:00.90) in the 1500m.

Men’s Track and Field – Jayden Smith won his second meet in as many weeks, winning the 110m hurdles on Saturday to highlight the final day of competition for the Davidson men’s track & field team at the VertKlasse Meeting hosted by High Point.

Smith clocked a season-best time of 13.64 seconds. The All-American has won both of the events he has competed in this season.

John Teachman set another school record in the Javelin, breaking his own mark that he set two weeks ago. The previous record stood for 17 years before Teachman broke and then increased his record throw. Teachman recorded a 64.02m (210′) throw, finishing fourth in final competition.

Eli Roth finished fourth in the mile, clocking a time of 4:12.55. This marked a career best for the freshman. Ryan Harris placed in sixth place in the 800 meters, running a season best 1:55.35.

Davidson was victorious on Friday afternoon as Jack Fischer won the 800 meters on the first day of the VertKlasse Meeting hosted by High Point.

Fischer took first place with a career best time of 1:53.37. This is the freshman’s first collegiate victory. Liam Maurillo finished in fourth place with a personal-best time of 1:54.45. 

Bradley Cruthirds placed eighth in the 400m hurdles after finishing in 56.33. Sam Ketch set a personal record in the hammer with a distance of 44.68m
