GREENSBORO — A six-run deficit after three innings proved too much for the Davidson baseball team to overcome in a 7-5 loss to N.C. A&T at historic World War Memorial Stadium Tuesday night.

The game marked the eighth straight road contest for the Wildcats, who fell to 14-17 and 4-4 on the road swing.

Michael O’Shaughnessy led the way with three hits and also provided the highlight with a three-run home run in the seventh inning, which cut the Aggies’ lead to 6-5. It was O’Shaughnessy’s ninth blast of the year.

JD Woodall (2-for-4) was the only other Wildcat with multiple hits.

Davidson got on the board in the fourth, after consecutive hits from O’Shaughnessy (single) and Anthony Torreso (double), an RBI-groundout by Jack Cotrone and an RBI-single from Chris Schuchart.

Beginning with Brycen Champey (2 IP), the Wildcats utilized six pitchers. Simon Yochum (1.2 IP, 3 Ks, 1 hit) and Matt Hamilton (2 IP, 1 hit) kept the Aggies at bay in the middle innings.
