RICHMOND, Va. — The Davidson lacrosse season came to a close Thursday afternoon, after the Wildcats fell 16-10 to the VCU Rams on the campus of University of Richmond in the Atlantic 10 Quarterfinals.

Davidson, which finished the season 12-5 and 8-2 in A-10 play, captured 11+ wins for the fifth consecutive season and set a new program record for conference victories (8). The Wildcats’ senior class also set a new mark for career wins with 48 victories over their four-year tenures.

VCU jumped out to a 2-0 start against the ‘Cats and never looked back, creating a six-goal advantage (11-5) with 10 minutes to play in the third quarter. Davidson fought back and rallied with four-straight goals from Jenna SkibbeJosie Lambert and Adrienne Leone to pull back within two, 11-9, heading into the final seconds of the third. However, the Rams ultimately punched back and solidified the win with a 5-1 scoring run to close out the contest.
