Meet Your Candidates for Public Office in Davidson
As we reported several weeks ago, the list of candidates for the 2025 municipal elections in Davidson is final. News of Davidson sent all candidates for municipal office a request for information that they want to share with our readers, and we also asked them to submit a photo (not necessarily a posed headshot). We asked that their input be submitted no later than July 31. All candidates responded to our request. Their responses have not been edited or altered. You can find their responses in the hyperlinks on their names listed below.
While this was an open-ended request, in the coming weeks the News of Davidson team will send all the candidates a series of questions and ask them to answer within a set word limit.
Incumbent Mayor Rusty Knox is running unopposed for re-election.
There are six candidates for the five seats on the Town Board, and are listed below as they are provided on the Mecklenburg County Board of Elections’ website.
All elections in Davidson are nonpartisan. News of Davidson, as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, does not endorse any candidate. Our goal is to provide the information to voters to make educated and informed decisions.
Election Day 2025 is Tuesday, November 4. Important Dates for the 2025 Election are as follows.
- Ballots will be mailed out starting: Friday, October 3, 2025.
- Last day to request a ballot: Tuesday, October 21, 2025 by 5:00 p.m.
- Absentee Ballot Return Deadline: Tuesday, November 4, 2025 at Board of Elections by 7:30 p.m.
- First Day of Early Voting: Thursday, October 16, 2025.
- Last Day of Early Voting: Saturday, November 1, 2025.
- Last Day to Register to Vote on Election Day: Friday October 10, 2025 by 5:00 p.m.
- Certification of Primary: Tuesday, November 14, 2025.
