Last month, Sylvia Holmes and Angie Grooms traveled to Des Moines, Iowa, to participate in the National Senior Games (formerly known as Senior Olympics) cornhole competition. Competing in different age categories, Sylvia came home with the gold medal in women’s singles, and Angie, who was fifth overall in women’s singles, came home with the bronze medal.

Over 12,000 athletes, representing all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and ten countries, competed in 25 different sports. Angie and Sylvia, residents at The Pines at Davidson, compete locally, but they are both active in other sports too. Congratulations to these local athletes!
