RICHMOND, Va. — Davidson's resurgent field hockey season came to an end with a 4-2 loss to Richmond in the Atlantic 10 Tournament Thursday afternoon at Crenshaw Field.

The Wildcats were in their first A-10 postseason since 2015 and closed the season 10-9 with their first winning campaign since 2011.

Sib Naaktgeboren, the A-10 Offensive Player of the Year, scored her program-best 21st goal to give the Wildcats the lead in the second quarter, but Richmond scored the game's next four goals to pull away. Three of those came off the stick of Clara Larripa, who evened the score at 1-1 before the intermission, then struck twice in a 1:25 span early in the third quarter.

Richmond's Alexa Derr made it 4-1 before Lourdes Wolf scored for Davidson, also in the third, to trim the lead to two.

Naaktgeboren's record-breaking campaign ended with single-season school records in goals (21) and points (48).
