DAVIDSON, NC - The Town of Davidson has partnered with Atlas One, a location-based safety network that will help keep Davidson residents safe and informed with the MyDavidson mobile app.

In order to access MyDavidson, residents and visitors must download the app in the App Store for iPhone or Google Play Store for Android. This app allows Town Communications, Davidson Police, and Davidson Fire Departments to send personalized, geo-fenced notifications to residents about public safety issues, events, and announcements. The app also enables residents to connect with local government agencies and access interactive content. 

Key features of the MyDavidson mobile app:

• Geo-fenced alerts: The app sends notifications based on a user's location or areas they specify, such as their home or workplace. 
• Real-time information: The app provides up-to-the-minute updates on community events and public safety issues. 
• Interactive content: Users can access Guides and information on the Town website, including news, directories, and more. 

“We are extremely excited to launch MyDavidson,” said Town Manager Jamie Justice. “We now have the ability to send personalized geo-fenced notifications to an area as small as a building, allowing us to get the right information to the right people in real-time. This technology will save lives.”

The Atlas One software platform was built to offer residents unprecedented access to real-time information, while still respecting user privacy. “Users can be comfortable sharing their location with Atlas One knowing their data is safe,” said Jamieson Johnson, Vice President of Atlas One. “Location access simply allows us to notify you if an emergency is occurring nearby. We never track historical locations or share your personal data with any third parties, including the Town of Davidson.” Users can still be notified if alerts occur nearby favorite places, even if they choose not to share their location. The Town of Davidson can also publish incidents, events, places, and guides, and include interactive information such as directories, maps, news updates, links, and FAQ’s.

How to opt in to the MyDavidson App

• Download MyDavidson app in the App Store for iPhone or Google Play Store for Android.
• Tap “GET STARTED” to create your profile.
• Share your location or add favorite places you want to track.
• Once the app is installed, if an alert occurs near your current location or places you track, the app will send a push notification directly to you.
• Be sure to follow Town of Davidson, Davidson Police, and Davidson Fire.
