County Opens Veterans Services Office in the New Huntersville Town Hall
This office will provide support in areas such as housing, health care, education, employment, benefits, and social enrichment—ensuring that service members, veterans, and their families have convenient access to the assistance they deserve.
A dedicated Veteran Service Officer will be available for walk-in services Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The office will be closed each day from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. for lunch. Huntersville Town Hall is located at 14704 N. Old Statesville Road. Parking is available behind the new Town Hall, and can be accessed from Maxwell Avenue and N.C. 115. Parking remains available at the Town Center parking deck next to the Discovery Place Kids Museum at 105 Gilead Road. The new Veterans Services office can be found on the 1st floor of the town hall in office 173.
We are pleased to introduce Culeen Shaffer, the area’s new Veteran Service Officer. Culeen is an Air National Guard veteran with a master’s degree in public policy administration and a concentration in nonprofit management. With 24 years of military service, a background in public affairs, and extensive nonprofit experience, she brings a wealth of knowledge and a deep commitment to supporting veterans. “I have a passion for community service,” said Shafer, “And I’m here to help ensure veterans and their families receive the benefits and resources they have earned.”
