NEWS

Dear Reader,

Ice may be making our lives miserable, but gatherings at the bookstore are warming us up. See what we did there?

We have kicked off 2026 with a lineup of fresh programming. In the first few weeks alone, we soft-launched Main Street Stories with our bookseller Wisty (Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m.), hosted an author event with Davidson College alum Denise Smith Cline, and kicked off another year of book clubs with The Main Squeeze.

Mark your calendars for the following events:

• Thursday, Feb. 10, at 7 p.m.: Book Club Main Squeeze Romance Book Club (Virtual Meeting)

• Thursday, Feb. 12, at 6 p.m.: Author Talk Sharon Kurtzman: The Lost Baker of Vienna

Main Street Books has the honor of hosting a pre-order campaign for The Balancing Act by Nedra Glover Tawwab. Order The Balancing Act by February 9th to receive a signed copy on pub day, Feb. 10. We can ship these pre-orders to any US address.

We are also hosting Nedra in conversation with therapist Kobe Campbell right here in Davidson on Thu, February 26th. Tickets are available now!

Winter Weather Note

Locals, the Davidson, NC area is expecting more winter weather to arrive Saturday, January 31, 2026. Stay tuned for any updates to store hours.

Please know that last week’s ice storm has caused delays in order arrival times.
