DAVIDSON, NC – Austin Nantz, Assistant Town Manager with the Town of Davidson, recently received the Credentialed Manager designation from ICMA, the International City/County Management Association. Austin is one of over 1,300 local government management professionals currently credentialed through the ICMA Voluntary Credentialing Program.

ICMA’s mission is to advance professional local government through leadership, management, innovation, and ethics, and by increasing the proficiency of appointed chief administrative officers, assistant administrators, and other employees who serve local governments and regional entities around the world. The organization’s 13,000 members in 27 countries also include educators, students, and other local government employees.

To receive the prestigious ICMA credential, a member must have significant experience as a senior management executive in local government; have earned a degree, preferably in public administration or a related field; and demonstrated a commitment to high standards of integrity and to lifelong learning and professional development.

Since August of 2021, as Assistant Town Manager, Austin has supported the Town Manager in overseeing municipal operations, policy implementation, and strategic projects. Her leadership position involves close collaboration with the Board of Commissioners, staff, and community partners on initiatives such as economic development, affordable housing, and intergovernmental relations.

Austin began her local government career with the City of Charlotte in 1999 and served in the Fire Department, CATS and Innovation & Technology before joining the Town of Davidson.

“Assistant Town Manager Austin Nantz has been an extraordinary asset to the Town of Davidson," said Mayor Rusty Knox. "Her leadership, judgment, and long commitment to public service have strengthened our organization and helped turn community values into real, measurable results. Austin approaches every challenge with integrity, collaboration, and care for our residents, and Davidson is a better place because of her contributions.”
